Prof. Dr. Francis Thonippara ist Mitglied des Ordens Carmelites of Mary Immaculate. Er lehrt Kirchengeschichte am Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK) in Bengaluru, Indien. 2019 hat Papst Franziskus ihn zum Mitglied des Päpstlichen Komitees für Geschichtswissenschaften ernannt. Er ist Autor und Herausgeber von 17 Büchern, veröffentlichte mehr als 130 wissenschaftliche Artikel in Fachzeitschriften, gab Bücher und Enzyklopädien heraus, hielt zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Vorträge und nahm an nationalen und internationalen Konferenzen teil.

Prof. Dr. Francis Thonippara is a member of the Carmelite Order of Mary Immaculate. He teaches Church History at the Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK) in Bengaluru, India. In 2019, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. He authored and edited 17 books, published more than 130 scientific articles in journals, edited books and encyclopaedias, presented many scholarly papers and attended national and international conferences.
